Interview with Julie Ann Lozada Fashion Blogger

Interview with Julie Ann Lozada Fashion BloggerToday’s Interview is with Julie Ann Lozada (It’s a GIRL Thing Blog Owner). And here are our questions!

Q: How did you first become interested in fashion and why is it important for you?

Julie Ann: Since I was very young, I have always enjoyed making paper dresses for my paper dolls and I watched TV and read fashion magazines for inspiration. I grew up in a fashionable environment. My father had a good sense of style and my mother was the best dressmaker in our town (for 30 yrs. now). At age 10, my mom taught me how to design and sew clothes for my Barbie dolls and I was hooked. As I got older, I suddenly obsesses with anything about fashion so I started a fashion blog to share to everyone my first love – FASHION.

On the most basic level, fashion is important to me because it makes me happy and makes us look good, who doesn’t like to look good?

Q: What inspires you? Who are your favorite designers?

Julie Ann: Most of my inspiration actually comes from my favorite celebrities like Selena Gomez, fashion magazines and fashion bloggers like Anastasia Siantar. I have no particular favorite designer, for me all of them are the best on their own way.

Q: What was the most expensive thing you have ever bought?

Julie Ann: The most expensive thing I purchased till now is my laptop that only cost 1,200 dollars, and my DSLR that cost 1,600 dollars. For my clothes, I am neither cheap nor the type to need designer brand clothing. I guess I’m somewhere in the middle. The amount on the price tag is really irrelevant because I base my “style” off of what I think looks good. I usually wear my clothes only once and sell them right away. Quality of material is really what matters most, in my opinion. I’m not a brand conscious person, I shop at Forever 21 and Topshop and I go to Old Navy, American Apparel – that’s about as name brand as I get.

Interview with Julie Ann Lozada Fashion BloggerQ: What are your cost saving tips? Can you share them with our readers?

Julie Ann: I have brought clothes online because online shops offer deals you can only get online (bargain savings) and for other stuff I go for E-commerce site that offered services and products at discounted prices. I earn money online so I just use that money to shop online also. Online shopping is hassle-free, convenient and time-saving.

Q: What things do you choose to save money on?

Julie Ann: I save money for emergency fund and family travels. Every Sunday, we go out on some trip or another even if it’s only to the local shop, parks and theater. My family has a wonderful pizza dinner every Sunday night or simply out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants.

Q: Do you have money saving tips for our readers when it comes to fashion?

Julie Ann: Buying at Forever 21, Top shop, American Apparels or other  inexpensive brand name clothing generally assure you that you’re getting your money’s worth. These brands usually wear and look good for a long period of time. While the “name brand” may offer some advantages, it’s not worth it to be paying five, ten or one hundred times the amount you’d pay for a more “generic” version. You could buy 50 clothes for the price you paid for one branded clothes.

Q: What do you think about taking out a loan for buying something you love? Have you ever taken a loan?

Julie Ann: I have never taken any loan yet, paying all *cash* for something is what I like. I have credit card that I only use for emergency and to purchase online. But now, I’m thinking of getting a loan for a small business.
